TRIPOLI-The United States Of America Has Stressed The Need For The Libyan People And The International Community To Use All Available Tools To Prevent Any Attempts To Disrupt Libya’s Political Transition.
This came as the US welcomed the progress made by the Advisory Committee of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum towards the selection of a new interim executive authority.
It said this progress reflected the committee's knowledge of the clear demands of the Libyan people that it is time to overcome the conflict and corruption facilitated by the status quo.
According to the website of the U.S. Embassy in Libya, the United States of America calls on all parties to act urgently and in good faith through the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum to form a new unified government, whose task will be to hold national elections on December 24 this year, to render public services, and to manage and distribute Libya's wealth transparently for the benefit of all citizens. The Embassy commended the Acting Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General, Stephanie Williams, for her exceptional leadership and commitment to helping Libya achieve a safer and more prosperous future.
