Tunisia is staying at equal distance towards all sides in Libya in the light of the presence of two governments each pretending to represent the Libyan people, said Secretary-General of Nidaa Tounes and Minister of Foreign Affairs Taieb Baccouche.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of his participation Sunday in the party’s meeting in Sousse, he noted that the Tunisian diplomacy is moving towards the establishment of a consular representation to the Tripoli government and another to the Tobruk Government.
He expressed hope to see the two governments face up to the terrorist groups who, he noted, pose a threat to security in Libya and in neighbouring countries.
He said that Tunisia has chosen “a positive neutrality” towards all stakeholders and supports the United Nations’ initiatives to enhance the unity of Libya and protect it against division and terrorism.
