One person was killed and two others were injured after the Ukrainian army targeted Nova Kakhovka City with mortar shells, the local authorities in Kherson region said.
“Causalities were reported among the civilians as well as material damages to the houses and the buildings due to the Ukrainian shelling which targeted on Wednesday morning the residential areas in the city with 120 mm mortar shells,” RT website quoted Deputy Governor of Kherson Province, Vladimir Saldo, as saying.
Two explosions of gas supply pipes and a partial power outage were also recorded, according to the authorities.
Earlier on Wednesday morning, the authorities in Nova Kakhovka reported that Ukrainian forces had begun heavy shelling of the city, and appealed to people to stay in shelters.
