Tripoli, Tunisian Prime Minister Hisham Al Msheshi arrived in Tripoli on Saturday on a visit at the head of a large delegation that included a number of ministers, chiefs of companies and financial and commercial entities and businessmen.

Al Msheshi’s visit comes less than two months after a visit President Qeis Saeid made to Libya. Lana has learnt that the high level delegation would conduct talks with officials in the Libyan Government on upgrading exchange between the two countries in the political, economic, trade and investment areas.

Al Msheshi was expected to hold talks with the Head of Government of National Unity Abdul Hamid Al Dbeiba, and talks would also be held by ministers with their Libyan counterparts.

The visit program includes launch of the Libyan-Tunisian Trade exhibition, which was the fruit of joint efforts by the Libyan vocational chambers of commerce and industry, and the Tunisian African Business Council in collaboration with the Tunisian Union of Industry, Trade and Traditional crafts, and also the official launch of the air route which was already resumed between Tunisia and Libya few days ago.

More than 150 Tunisian companies which specialize in mechanical and electrical industries, food, renewable energy, drugs and public works will take part in the exhibition.

Sources told Lana Al Sheshi’s visit bore an economic nature. He is flanked with a number of ministers and business bosses. The list includes Ministers of Economy, trade, finance, Foreign Minister Undersecretary, Governor of Tunisian Central Bank, Secretary General of Tunisian Union of Labour, Chairman of Union of Industry and Trade and Traditional Industries, as well as representatives of companies and businessmen.

Tunisia is pinning hope of reviving its economy on a stable Libya, which it always considers as an economic resuscitator for Tunisia.

The same sources indicated that Al Msheshi had repeatedly stated that the Libyan market was a promising strategic market for Tunisia especially following the progress made on the political track on the way towards stability.

Tunisian media covering the visit said Tunisia would have an important role in the reconstruction process in Libya.

They noted that Al Sheshi on Wednesday presided over a ministerial meeting devoted to Libyan Tunisian exchange and prospects of its future development.

According to the Tunisian media Al Sheshi has anticipated his visit by a phone call with the Libyan Head of Government of National Unity Abdul Hamid Al Dbeiba to discuss bilateral relations and upgrading exchange between the two countries in all areas.

On his part, Al Dbeiba highlighted the existing high level of relations between Libya and Tunisia, indicating that Libya wanted to benefit from Tunisian expertise in all fields.
