Minister Gentiloni meets Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Igor Crnadak

Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Paolo Gentiloni met the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Igor Crnadak today in Rome.

The talks focused on the excellent bilateral relations between their countries. "Italy is Bosnia's second largest trading partner," Minister Gentiloni said. He added that there is "room to further strengthen economic ties and to boost Italian investment in the country".

Mr Gentiloni also expressed appreciation for the constructive role played by Bosnia and Herzegovina at a regional level, particularly with the 2016 Presidency of the Central European Initiative (CEI) and the organisation of the Brdo-Brioni process. "Italy supports Bosnia in its reform and internal stabilisation process and in its path to European integration through specific cooperation projects within the Berlin process, such as those regarding energy and infrastructure," concluded Minister Gentiloni.

The meeting was a chance to exchange ideas on key international issues of common interest, including the fight against terrorism, the fight against radicalism, immigration and the crisis in Libya.
