The Council will adopt a statement on the ratification of the Paris agreement and discuss the review of the emissions trading system. It will also adopt conclusions on circular economy and on wildlife trafficking.
Foreign Affairs Council, 20 June 2016
The Council will discuss the integrated EU policy for the Arctic. Foreign Affairs ministers will then review the situation in Sahel, taking stock of the EU comprehensive approach to security and development in the region. They will also address the situation in the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. The Council will finally discuss the Middle East peace process.
The Council is also expected to formally extend the mandate of EUNAVFOR MED Operation Sophia by one year, and adding two tasks: training of the Libyan coastguard and Navy, and contributing to the implementation of the United Nations arms embargo on the high seas off the coast of Libya.
General Affairs Council, 24 June 2016
The Council will discuss draft conclusions of the June European Council, exchange views on the legislative programming for 2017 and take stock of the implementation of the better law-making agreement.
Agriculture and Fisheries Council, 27 and 28 June 2016
Agriculture and fisheries ministers will discuss the market situation, organic farming, fishing opportunitiesfor 2017 and the sustainable management of external fishing fleets.
European Council, 28 and 29 June 2016
The EU Heads of State and Government will discuss the outcome of the UK in/out referendum to be held on 23 June. The leaders will also address migration and call for a deepening of the Single Market.
