Tripoli, January 4, 2023 (LANA) – Libya condemned the extremist minister of the Israeli occupation government’s storming of the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque, with the protection of the occupation forces, in an attempt to change the historical and legal status quo in Al-Aqsa Mosque.

In a statement posted on its Facebook page today, Wednesday, the ministry denounced this “disgraceful” act and considered it a provocation to the feelings of all Muslims and a flagrant violation of the relevant international resolutions.

In its statement, the ministry held the “Israeli occupation” fully responsible for the repercussions of the continuation of such daily attacks on the city of Jerusalem, its people and its sanctities.

The Ministry reaffirmed Libya’s firm stance towards the Palestinian cause, and called on the international community to assume its responsibilities towards putting an end to these Israeli violations that would fuel conflict, extremism and instability in the region.

Yesterday, Tuesday, the Minister of National Security of the far-right Israeli occupation government, “Itamar Ben Gvir”, stormed the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, amid Palestinian, Arab and international condemnations, and fears of an explosive situation in the region.
