Syria and Iran have deep-rooted relations and play a key role in Western Asia region, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kanaani said.
“The relations between Damascus and Tehran are deep-rooted, with a history of which we are proud,” Kanaani added during his weekly press conference on Monday.
He noted that the visit which Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi will pay to Syria confirms the depth of these relations.
Kanaani added that his country, just as it had stood by the friendly country Syria during the war on terror, today announces its support with all its technical and engineering capabilities, and participation in the reconstruction phase
