Iraq and the Sultanate of Oman discuss regional and international situations and developments in the Palestinian crisis

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein discussed, today, Monday, with Shihab bin Tariq Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defense Affairs, in the Sultanate of Oman, the regional and international situations, and the latest developments in the Palestinian crisis.

A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated: “Hussein met, today, Monday, with Al Said, and the meeting discussed a number of topics of common interest, within the framework of military cooperation and exchange of expertise between the armed forces in both countries.”

The Foreign Minister stressed Iraq’s keenness to strengthen the bonds of cooperation and partnership in various military fields.

The two sides also welcomed, according to the statement, the holding of a 6+2 meeting in New York between the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, Iraq and Iran, to discuss developing security relations for the countries overlooking the Gulf.”

During the meeting, according to the statement, the regional and international si
tuations, the latest developments in the Palestinian crisis and the war on the Gaza Strip, and the violations to which the Palestinian people are exposed were discussed.

For his part, Shihab bin Tariq praised Iraq’s active role in its regional and international surroundings, and its efforts to achieve security and stability in the Middle East region.
