Iranian Speaker Raps West's Silence on Israel's Violation of Human Rights (FARS News Agency (Iran))

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani blasted the western states, specially the US, for keeping mum on the crimes committed by Israel after a Palestinian infant was burnt to death by settlers.

“The Americans feel honor in their support for the Zionist regime and consider its security as their own; a regime which has committed many assassinations and has been created through violation of human rights,” Larijani said, addressing a ceremony in Tehran on Wednesday.

He also voiced regret that violence and war has not decreased in the modern day, and said, “In recent decades, we have witnessed much violence and deployment of (foreign) forces in Iraq, Egypt, Libya, Afghanistan and Syria and in none of these wars human rights principles were respected.”

Larijani also condemned killing of the Palestinian baby boy who was burnt to death in the early hours of Friday, when Israeli settlers, wearing black balaclavas, smashed a window and threw a Molotov cocktail into the parents’ bedroom while they were asleep in their house in the West Bank village of Duma, South of Nablus.

A large fire broke out after Israeli settlers threw firebombs and Molotov cocktails into the Palestinian houses on Friday.

Local residents and witnesses identified the infant killed in the attack as 18-month-old Ali Saad Dawabsha.

Palestinian medical sources said the child’s parents, as well as his four-year-old brother, were all injured and rushed to a hospital in Nablus.

The two homes were set ablaze by settlers who came from the nearby settlement of Ma’akeg Efraim.

According to local residents’ accounts, the parents woke up and tried to remove their children from the house, but were unable to save their youngest son. The other torched house was empty at the time.

Media reports indicate that Hebrew graffiti was found near the arson scene, reading “revenge” and “long live the Messiah.” The settlers also wrote ‘price tag’ and drew a Star of David on the walls of the homes.

The settlers’ arson attack has caused a rising wave of fury across the world.
