Tripoli, The Deputy President of the Presidential Council – the Supreme Commander of the Libyan Army, “Musa al-Koni” met this evening, Tuesday, with the leaders of military and security formations and battalions in the capital, Tripoli, to discuss security developments and the security congestion witnessed during the past two days.
The meeting, which was held at Maitiga International Airport between Al-Koni and the leaders of these battalions, focused on discussing removing the causes of security tension and ways to maintain security and calmness in the capital, stopping all abnormal military movements, and withdrawing all military vehicles and mechanisms from the streets of the capital and returning them to their headquarters and military and security barracks.
Al-Koni called on everyone to exercise restraint and arbitrate the mind, and to address the situation through dialogue and wisdom, and to take care of the interest of the capital and all of Libya at this sensitive time that our country is going through, and not to give the opportunity to those who stalk the country and who seek to strife and ignite wars again in the country, which will only return destruction and devastation to the country and the Libyans.
He stressed that this sensitive and important stage that our country is going through, from which we hope to emerge in peace and reach the stage of stability, requires us all to put the national interest above all interests and narrow orientations in order to survive and move our country to safety.
