Foreign Ministry Undersecretary discusses with Congolese Foreign Minister ways for Sahel-Sahara Group and AU office to return to work from Tripoli.

Tripoli, The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign and International Cooperation Omar Al-Kati discussed with the Foreign Minister of Congo, Jean-Claude Gakosso, return of the General Secretariat of the Sahel-Sahara Group and the African Union Office to work from their headquarters in Tripoli. Al-Kati held a meeting yesterday evening in Tripoli, with Mr. Jean-Claude, who came from the city of Benghazi.
Al-Kati welcomed Mr. Jean-Claude and his accompanying delegation, which included Muhammad Al-Hassan Al-Labbat, Director of the Office of the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, wishing that this visit would yield positive results, praising role of the African Union in general and the High-level Committee of the African Union on Libya, chaired by President Denis Sassou Nguesso, President of the Republic of the Congo.
Omar Katti, Undersecretary for International Cooperation and Organizations Affairs, explained that Libya was looking forward to the African Union to play a greater role, and to intensify the visits of leaders of African countries to Libya, and for their support of return of the Executive Secretariat of the Community of Sahel and Saharan States to function from its headquarters in Tripoli, and also to move the African Union office to work from Tripoli instead of Tunisia at the earliest opportunity to facilitate communication between the Libyan state and the African Union Commission.
For his part, Mr. Jean-Claude said would convey to President Denis Sassou Nguesso, Chairman of the High Level Committee of the African Union on Libya, the concerns of the Libyan side, especially in the file of national reconciliation and assistance in conducting the elections in cooperation with the African Union Commission.
