Benghazi, First Deputy Head of Government of National Unity Husain Atiya Al Qatrani said the Government did not comply with provisions of the Political Agreement and the governing principles of the roadmap including unifying institutions, fair distribution of resources among regions, and did not live up to its national historic responsibility, but instead fell prey to individual administration paths, personal calculations which weakened the executive and institutional work, which in turn blocked chances for resolving political division. The Government, he said, failed to determine the authorities of deputies to the head of the Government, according to a statement he issued in Benghazi on Sunday.

Al Qatrani demanded, in the statement he read on behalf of officials of Cyrenaica, the Libyan eastern region, and the mayors of municipalities, for a return of the institutions and central administrative units that existed in Cyrenaica, the opening of the electronic clearing, and activating all Political Agreement provisions in a way that guarantees rights of the regions and those of the Libyan people right away, denouncing what he termed obstinacy of the Head of the Government by keeping the post of the Defence Minister.

Al Qatrani warned that further escalating measures would be taken unless steps were taken to address these woes.
