Emigration min. urges benefiting from Al Azhar, Church efforts in enhancing Egypt’s soft power in Africa

Minister of State for Emigration Soha el Gendy said on Thursday 16/3/2023 Al Azhar and the Church are two national institutions that can be benefited from in enhancing Egypt’s soft power inside the African continent.

The minister gave the remarks during a meeting with Archbishop of the Coptic Orthodox Church in Africa Anba Joseph on Egyptian communities in the continent.

Gendi underlined the importance of enhancing cooperation with the Egyptian Church in Africa to iron out any hurdles facing members of the Egyptian expat communities.

She reiterated the keenness of the political leadership on enhancing cooperation with the African brethren.

She underlined the importance of laying down a strategy for cooperation with fellow African countries and opening new markets, referring in this regard to coordination to launch “Egypt can with Trade and Industry with Africa” conference.

The two sides also discussed increasing tourism inflows among African nations, boosting trade exchange, fostering cooperation in the educational and electricity domains and sending medical assistance to African countries.
