Dabaiba announces the launch of the pilot phase of the electronic procurement and bidding system for government agencies.

Tripoli- Prime Minister Abdel Hamid al-Dabaiba issued a circular to start the pilot phase of the e-procurement and bidding system for government entities, provided that the starting phase of its operation will be at the beginning of 2023.

The Prime Minister called on the General Information Authority to submit a proposal for the operational regulations that obligate government entities to be fully transparent in their procurement and tenders by integrating it into the daily work system in public authorities, according to what was published by the media office of the Prime Minister of National Unity on his official page on the “Facebook” website. .

The technical team, which is supervised by the General Information Authority, conducted a detailed review of the system, its development stages, and the requirements for its operation.

The new system ensures that the authorities announce their bids, purchases and technical specifications so that suppliers can view them for submission.

The system achieves the required level of transparency and equal opportunities for all, and contributes to reducing the phenomenon of corruption on a large scale.

Minister of State for Communication and Political Affairs Walid Al-Lafi said that this step comes within the government’s plan to complete the process of disclosing public expenditures, with full transparency when contracting procedures.
