GUANGZHOU, China, April 27, 2016 /PRNewswire/ — The 37th China International Furniture Fair (Guangzhou) successfully concluded in March with a record breaking number of 3,868 exhibitors and 168,881 visitors during the 8-day event.
The 2016 CIFF (Guangzhou) hosted at China Import and Export Fair Complex and Poly World Trade Centre Expo with the theme of “smart and customization” exhibited the latest products and designs brought by internationally renowned furniture brands from China, the U.S., Singapore, Italy and more.
As virtual reality wades into the consumer market, furniture companies are also actively seeking ways to incorporate VR technology to build future dream homes. Landbond hosted a press conference and released the first VRHome experience system, a “fitting room” for furniture that enables customers to use the VR headset to “try on” furniture in their own home before making the purchase.
In addition to smart home and office products like all-in-one audio & visual integrated living room furniture, smart mattresses that can record and track sleep patterns, and electronic office desks that adjust in height, new models featuring technologies like robotic arms, 3D printing, automatic spray painting and smart sensor control were also presented to the public.
Paul Dotta, senior vice president of China retail at Ashley Furniture China, remarked that every year CIFF (Guangzhou) helps the company establish good cooperation relations.
“This year’s CIFF offered our brand better presentation and promotion opportunities,” said Dotta. “We received a lot of feedback and encouragement from our customers and found many potential partners, which is extremely useful to maintaining business growth.”
The 37th CIFF (Guangzhou) not only featured hundreds of internationally renowned brands and companies, but also hosted forums and art shows to help build long-term partnerships.
Tom Conley, president and CEO of High Point Market Authority, announced during the opening ceremony on March 18 that High Point is establishing a strategic partnership with CIFF. Spanish artist Cristobal Gabarron also brought the nine works in his signature sculpture exhibition “The Mysteries of Columbus” to CIFF’s Spanish themed 1st Global Garden Lifestyles Festival.
CIFF (Shanghai) will pick up the baton and unveil the four-day 38th CIFF (Shanghai) on September 7 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai with 400,000m2 of exhibition space. The venue is now supported by the fully operational commercial center and upgraded services and exhibition groups from countries including Italy, Japan, Turkey and South Korea are set to feature.
Founded in 1998, China International Furniture Fair (CIFF) takes place semi-annually in Guangzhou (March) and Shanghai (September). With the successful experience of past 37 sessions, CIFF has been well accepted as the Weatherglass of China’s Furniture Industry, Asia’s Furniture Sourcing Center and the No.1 Platform for the World Class.
