Brigadier General (R) Aref Alzaben, following a 32-year career in the Jordanian Armed Forces, will assume responsibility for directing GSI’s new business growth initiatives in the region.
Brigadier General (R) Aref Alzaben is highly respected in the military training field, having been awarded the Special Operations Command Medal by Admiral William H. McRaven for his dedication and performance on the Global War on Terrorism. His career highlights include the role of General Director and Military Commandant at King Abdullah Special Operations Training Center (KASOTC), Commander of the King Abdullah II, 37th Royal Special Forces Brigade, Commander of the 71st Special Battalion and Commander of Task Force 222/C in Afghanistan with ISAF, as part of the US 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team.
Brigadier General (R) Aref Alzaben received his Bachelor’s degree from Royal Military College (Amman, Jordan), his Master’s degree from United States Defense University (Washington, D.C.) and is working towards his Ph.D. at Exeter College (Oxford, United Kingdom).
