Algeria, Today, Monday, Italy and Algeria stressed the need to reach a consensual solution in Libya to hold elections on its basis, and to support the path of national reconciliation within the framework of the comprehensive dialogue led by the United Nations.

This came during a joint press conference of Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune with Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni, who arrived on Sunday on an official visit to Algeria, according to what was reported by the Algerian News Agency.

Tebboune said in the press conference, “It was agreed with the Italian side to coordinate work to resolve the region’s crises, and I sensed a position from the Italian Prime Minister, Georgia Meloni, which translates into a great convergence of visions on the Libyan crisis.”

“We stressed the need to reach a consensual solution based on organizing elections, supporting the interests of the Libyan state, and a comprehensive dialogue led by the United Nations,” the Algerian president added.
