Tripoli The President of the Presidency Council of the Government of National Accord Fayez Al Serraj said one reason for the crisis situation in Libya, which allowed spread of terror was the abandoning by the international community of Libya after 2011, leaving the country in abyss. Speaking before the Arab-Islamic-US Summit in Saudi Arabia on Sunday, Al Serraj said it was time for a correction that's based on a comprehensive strategy, that would help Libyans achieve political stability and eradicate terrorism and extremism. Terror groups and their cronies come from outside Libya, which puts a double burden on the neighboring countries, Al Serraj said, adding that terrorists exploited the political and security vacuum and indeed the illegal migration, to bring mercenaries into Libya, therefore the international community has a duty to support us. Al Serraj restated the GNA vision for stability by sitting to the negotiating table, and away from the military solution, indicating that his meetings with a number of political leaders aimed to find a common ground for the political agreement to hold because suffering of Libyans has reached record levels. Al Serraj called on the international community to stop those negatively mingling in the Libyan internal business which prolonged the age of the crisis. We have become a venue for account settling, then we are asked for a Libyan- Libyan solution, Al Serraj said. Who is fueling the internal infighting and the clashes across the country, including and the latest in southern Libya, he asked. Unfortunately weapons reach all the warring parties but the legitimate government, he said.
