(Al-Manqoush) signs a memorandum of understanding with the United States Institute of Peace to support stability in Libya.

(LANA) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation “Najla Al-Manqoush” signed today, Monday, a memorandum of understanding with the United States Institute of Peace (USIP) to support the stabilization process in Libya.

The memorandum of understanding signed by Minister Al-Manqoush with the Director of North Africa Programs and the Regional Axis, Elie Abu Aoun, at the ministry’s headquarters in the capital, Tripoli, stipulated the implementation of the Institute’s programs that support conflict resolution and peace and stability building in Libya, in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

 The memorandum includes the principles governing between the Ministry and the Institute and supports transparency and interest in achieving the most positive impact for the Libyan people through joint initiatives between the two parties.

The United States Institute of Peace is an independent US institution authorized by the US Congress, headquartered in Washington.

It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation is responsible for implementing the policies, plans, and programs in the field of the state’s foreign affairs, in line with the national goals within the framework of the general policy of the Libyan state.
