Tripoli- Member of the Presidential Council, “Abdullah Al-Lafi,” said that the National Reconciliation Conference is a national project in which we are all equal, and no one owns it. It represents the bridge through which we cross to achieve the aspirations of our people and the future of our youth.

Al-Lafi added, in a speech he delivered at the launch of the preparatory forum for the National Reconciliation Conference today, Sunday, in Tripoli, “More than ten years have passed in which crises affected our homeland, during which we lost our lives, lost our capabilities, suffered the bitterness of division, and nations surpassed us, and we lost opportunities for development and progress.”

Al-Lafi called for ending the conflict and confronting the issues of disagreement by developing just solutions and settlements, and agreeing on what brings us together and establishing the building of a strong state.

Al-Lafi explained that the national reconciliation project depends on organized and responsible dialogue, and its success depends on the support of all Libyans for such initiatives.
