Tripoli, The representative of the Presidential Council, Musa Al-Koni, affirmed that by taking over the national unity government and the beginning of the establishment of the modern Libyan state, and seeking to organize elections at the end of the year, women will be the most important pillars of this stage and the next, so that they can actually participate in laying the real foundations for this state as a mother, sister and wife.

Al-Koni said in his speech today during the launch of the initiative to prepare and adopt the national plan to implement Security Council Resolution No. (1325) to support women. “We meet today to discuss the law issued by the United Nations on violence against women, for which women have paid the price over the past years because of the conditions in Libya and for the sake of a future. The Libyan state and it is important to heal the wounds of our mothers, sisters, and wives, from the previous and difficult decade for all of them.”

Al-Koni added that “as we approach the elections at the end of the year, women must participate in a real way to cast their vote, in order to contribute to the leadership of the next stage, and they must be the leaders in it.”

Al-Koni confirmed that the Libyan woman, “after the difficult labor that Libya went through, is now able to advance the ranks of men, and to save the country and the people due to the challenges that she has lived through, and she has become able to be a difficult member, and in the upcoming elections she must prepare to contest these elections ably, and we do not want you to give your voice to the man, but to give your vote to yourself, to witness a radical change in Libya, which men failed to lead over the past years.”

The deputy in the Presidential Council expressed his thanks to the Prime Minister, “Abdul Hamid al-Dbaiba”, who had great credit for his bias towards women by assuming them many ministerial positions, as ministers in sovereign ministries that are not easy to lead, even from men due to his great confidence in women, and they succeeded with great success in this task
