Tripoli, - Assistant Secretary-General and Coordinator of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, Rizdon Zininga, held a meeting with the Minister of Interior, of the Government of National Accord, Fathi Bashagha, on Sunday, during which the methods and means for the success of the political process that Libya is currently witnessing, scheduled to end with democratic elections to be held on 24th of December were discussed.
During this meeting, the two sides also reviewed the security situation in the western region in general and Tripoli in particular, and touched upon a number of common issues between the Ministry of Interior and the United Nations Support Mission in Libya.
For his part, Bashagha expressed his hope that the confidence of the House of Representatives would be granted to the government of national unity in the coming days, expressing his satisfaction with the election of a government of national unity and a new presidential council.
Bashagha stressed during the meeting the Ministry of Interior's support for all political outcomes to get the country to safety, according to the media sources of the Ministry of Interior.
