444 Combat Brigade: releasing a man in Bani Walid after he was kidnapped.

A detachment of the 444 combat brigade in the Libyan army released a young man in the city of Bani Walid after he was kidnapped, beaten, and photographed for blackmailing him.

In a statement by its communication office, the brigade said that kidnapping occurred when three teenagers kidnapped him, took him to a deserted place, severely beat him, and photographed him to blackmail him.

The office confirmed that the kidnappers were arrested, and the kidnapped was released and returned to his family.

The statement said that the Libyan Penal Code punishes with imprisonment anyone who kidnaps, detains, imprisons, or robs a person of his rights, whether by force, threat, or deception. The kidnapper shall be punished with imprisonment for a period of no less than seven years.
